Our Story
How we met:
It was the day that would turn out to be more than just another spring morning in Vienna. That was the first time Martin and Fina met in person. Fina’s apartment in Hütteldorf, near the U3 station, became the starting point of what would soon be their story.
Inside, the two talked for hours about their different cultures, laughing at the little things that made their worlds unique. Martin, ever the gentleman, even showed Fina how the central heating, dishwasher and Oven work. Something ordinary, yet it felt like the most natural way of beginning.
When hunger called, they set out on foot, walking nearly 50 minutes all the way to KFC at Mariahilferstraße. A simple meal became an adventure, followed by another long walk until they reached Stephansplatz. By then, the city was sparkling in the night, but the cold wind finally chased them back to the U Bahn and into the warmth of Hütteldorf again.
Before Martin left that night, Fina gifted him a Maasai shuka. It wasn’t just a blanket against the chill it was a quiet gesture of care, a gift that carried the warmth of home, and a symbol of something beginning.
From that day on, the adventures kept unfolding walks through Schönbrunn, tours across Austria, moments of doing everything and nothing at all. Life briefly pulled them apart, but destiny knew better. In June, Fina’s birthday month, their eyes met again, and this time there was no question, two hearts had chosen each other.
And so today, they celebrate life as the Brandstätters elegantly, joyfully, and always with a touch of adventure, cherishing forever.
The proposal:
The two lovebirds were in Watamu on holiday and it was Martins turn to plan a secret event. Their previous days were full of preparation for Markus, so it was really nice to enjoy some lovely time at the coast and on the beach. Martin bought the ring and the box weeks before and hided it good in his things. On this specific Tuesday they went down to the beach, as every day.
On this day they got some nice pictures on the Love Island and on their way back, Martin went down on his knees and Fina jumped around of excitement when she noticed it. Martin got the luckiest man this day, because she said YES. Both were very happy and excited, because a new path has been revealed. Unfortunately the box got wet from the Photoshoot in the water before. However, the Ring was important and it was still in a perfect condition.
